| Ali HasaniManager of Works Arusha, Tanzania Born in Tanga, Tanzania Ali Hasani completed primary school and moved to Arusha where he began work as a gardener in a large housing complex. He then went in to partnership with an Arusha builder working on many buildings in the Arusha region. In 2004 he was contracted to do landscaping work for this foundation and performed so well he was asked to join the permanent staff. Ali now supervises all building work and makes an important contribution to the Tanzanian Board. |  | Mir AkbaraliBusinessman Arusha, Tanzania Born in Madagascar and now living in Arusha Tanzania Mir belongs to the much respected Remtula Pirbhai family. He is the proprietor of JR Electonics Ltd, a computer retailer in Arusha. Executive Director Arusha, Tanzania Lara is an honours graduate in international law and is continuing her studies in development economics, She worked on humanitarian projects in Nepal, Rwanda, Egypt, Bosnia/Herzegovina and the UK, where she gained much experience in non-profit management. Lara administers the Foundation work in Tanzania and is the liaison between the Governing board and the International Board of Advisors. |  | Maganga LorryPrimary School Head Teacher Mbaaseny, Tanzania Born in the small village of Haydarer in Mbulu District, Maganga Lorry was able to save enough from his small farm to pay his way through teachers college. He rapidly proved his dedication to the profession and after three years was appointed head teacher of Mbaaseny Primary School where he has become known for his competent management of the school and high academic results from his students. |
