Teachers are one of our most valuable resources yet often Tanzanian teachers are forced to choose between a decent wage, and their work in the classroom. To survive, most have to find secondary or tertiary employment to supplement their meager wages. Just $20 a month, or $240 per year, allows us to provide a valuable salary supplement to the Adopt a School teachers so they are able to focus exclusively on their students. This small supplement is very often the difference between a class having a teacher or not. The future of the child's education; the child's life itself can hang on it.

Adopt a School also supports all costs associated with sending teachers to training colleges or workshops to expand and develop their teaching skills. Every year, this costs the organization no less than $200 dollars per teacher. This investment is a crucial one.  A well-trained teacher has a renewed dedication to work in the classroom.
